Family owned and operated

We are proud to be a family owned and operated business. At Hub Labels, we are driven by five core principles: Safety, Sustainability, Innovation, Service, and Community.

Safety

Safety always has been and always will be our number one concern. We do not take short cuts and we protect our employees with the latest in safety practices and equipment. As a SHARP certified facility, are one of the few manufacturers in the state of Maryland to achieve this safety certification.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a journey. Our journey to becoming a landfill free print facility was a long and winding road. We want to help our customers, partners and vendors achieve their sustainability goals and we firmly believe in sharing our successes and setbacks.

Innovation

Innovation means we never stop moving and that we continue to find new ways to delight our customers. From the latest plate making technologies, to our G7 and GMI certifications, we are always evaluating and adjusting to deliver quality ps labels to our customers.

Service

Service to each other, our customers and ourselves holds us accountable to ensure we are setting the bar to new heights and never settle. We believe that those who serve others find lasting and satisfying success.

Community

Community means giving back. We hold monthly fundraisers for local organizations and participate in programs such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, United Way and Adopt-a-Highway. At Hub Labels, we are a family. We work and laugh together, cry and comfort one another. We value one another.

History of Hub Labels

Bud Dahbura, a mechanical engineer, and his wife Mary founded Hub Labels in Hagerstown, Maryland in 1978. This was their second company, the first being located in El Salvador after Bud identified a market opportunity in Central America.

After several years of label success in El Salvador, Bud and Mary realized the country was on the verge of civil war and decided to move back to Hagerstown. In the mid 1970s, Bud resumed his work as a mechanical engineer and also started a small label operation in a local storefront, which Mary ran during the day.

They started with a single press, which soon turned to two and then four presses, with a growing number of employees. After growing out of two locations, Bud and Mary built their first dedicated facility in the mid 1980s. Bud continued to work as an engineer and moonlighted at Hub Labels for several more years before moving to Hub Labels full-time. The existing location on Shawley Drive has been expanded four times to its present size of 110,000 square feet and the number of presses has grown to over twenty.

Hub Labels has always been on the forefront of advances in the label printing industry, having been among the first to introduce four-color process, computer-to-plate technology, digital printing, servo-driven presses, linerless labels and many other innovations. While Hub has grown to be one of the largest label companies in the US, it steadfastly maintains its family-owned tradition and dedication to quality and service that has made it one of the industry’s success stories.
