Columbia, Md. – Maryland MEP (MD MEP), a non-profit committed to growing and strengthening Maryland manufacturing, has announced Hub Labels as its October 2015 Make it in Maryland program’s Manufacturer of the Month recipient.
Founded in 1978 by Bud Dahbura and his wife, Mary, Hub Labels has more than 35 years of printing, manufacturing and converting label material expertise. The Make it in Maryland program is Maryland’s first and only program dedicated to manufacturers within the state to showcase companies, demonstrate the value of manufacturing within Maryland and highlight manufacturing successes.

Specializing in every type of custom label printing imaginable, Hub Labels’ presses are able to produce high-quality and pressure-sensitive roll labels, clear film labels, sheeted labels, fanfold, continuous laser, roll wrap, tag and specialty labels quickly and affordably. The organization is dedicated to partnering with customers to meet strategic goals by providing creative, innovative and sustainable label options. In prime market segments, pressure-sensitive labels, linerless labels and direct mail, Hub Labels’ products are found in 70 percent of mid-Atlantic households on food, beverage, beauty and household products.
Hub Labels operates daily using solid, sensible business practices to deliver superb customer service and top quality products. The organization’s dedicated sales and marketing staff are always listening to the voice of the customer, which helps drive innovation to deliver new label products to the market on a regular basis. Current projects include development of a “no label-look,” decoration for beverage containers, high opacity inks for clear containers and slide-able sleeves on vacuum packed food products.
In addition to the specialized products it provides, Hub Labels is very involved with the local community. From the top down, the organization values the local community with nonprofit sponsorships, monthly community events and employee involvement in programs such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and Adopt-A-Highway. Additionally, Hub Labels was awarded the 2014 Going Green Business Award and the 2013 Maryland Green Registry Award for outstanding contributions to environmentally responsible and sustainable business practices.
